Our Story

   

Like most families that are emigrating, the decision to actually relocate was always going to be a difficult one.  But the positive factors of emigrating to Australia far outweighed the negative factors.  The weather, the family orientated way of life, the outdoors lifestyle, these are all the usual factors in making a move like this, but above all, in Australia, children are children for far longer, there is no peer pressure to wear certain clothes or look a certain way at young age, and this truly is a wonderful place to raise a family.
                                                               
southport beachHaving been to Australia previously we decided to take the plunge and emigrate!  Our family moved to Adelaide from North Wales at the end of 2008 and we love it.  We have two daughters of school age and they have settled in incredibly well here, apart from school life there is a greater choice of activities and we just don’t have time to fit them all into an average week, which I suppose is not such a bad thing!

 

One of our favourite hobbies is ‘camping’!  Yes camping, one of the first things we bought when we arrived was a Camper Trailer and we like nothing more than getting away to the South Coast for a weekend of family fun which obviously, for our family, includes surfing!!

 

We were fortunate to have friends to greet us who were incredibly helpful when we arrived.   Being Australian they gave us a bit of a head start in knowing where to consider living.  Whilst helpful, they didn’t really know what we were going through and what we needed to do to start living here.  We spent hours researching our new country before we set off and found that trying to organise accommodation and vehicles from the UK was a nightmare.  There were so many things that we needed to know and couldn’t find out until we arrived:

 

  • Do you really know that the accommodation you are looking at on the internet is really suitable for you? 
  • Is it going to meet your needs and requirements? 
  • Do you really know the write up about the suburb or the street you will be living in is the right one for you?
  • Is the school the right one for your children?

 

The answer is you don’t;  not really, you are simply depending on information from a web page.  But these are the important things that can make the huge difference between a positive or a negative start to your new life. Wouldn’t you rather have someone here working hard for you making sure attention to detail is paid to every aspect of your requirements?
